Are you getting this message: Error processing data through NCOA: SetNCOAUserInfo failure
NCOA in mSQL is more difficult to troublehsoot, as its running outside of SQL and connecting to a cloud server, we get back a 0 or 1 on whether it succeeded or failed.
This error although is most commonly a permissions issue.
1) We're assuming you've already set up your NCOA PAF, and entered your account info - otherwise go here first.
2) If you're setting up a new machine, the NCOA license files must be moved to the new one from the old one, the NCOA license files are anything with a .bin extension stored in a hidden directory - C:\ProgramData\SmartSoft\NCOA , if the old machine was wiped, then you'll need to recreate the PAF and re enter your account info as we do not keep copies of your license files, they are stored locally (we'd suggest making a backup of your .bin files as well)
A) Possible permissions issue - it may be possible that the user you're running this as doesn't have permission to access the NCOA license files.
You can try granting read/write access to the NCOA license file directory to all users C:\ProgramData\SmartSoft\NCOA, if NCOA works, then you can step back and try granting it to specific users to further troubleshoot.
B) Missing supporting files? This is the 2nd most common issue
- The Visual 2013 C++ Redistributable (x86) Below is a link just in case the run times are not installed.
- Also .net 4.0 and 4.5 (newer ones just comes with 4.5, you might need to add the older .net version which should be backwards compatible with 2.0-3.5), in windows server versions you may need to do this by modifying the roles instead of downloading the installer
C) Firewall issues?
Also we’ve done some patches to the NCOA, we would suggest if you’re not running the latest live version, that you upgrade to 2.0.5 or newer, we’ve added additional encryption to the data transfer so it goes through an https tunnel, This also resolves most firewall issues.
