To remain in compliance with the USPS you will need to be switched to the newer SHA256 data by the end of September so please plan accordingly.
The 12.01.06N (SHA256) 360Science US Addressing dataset is available here.
(After downloading the zip file, remember to unzip the data, then run setup.exe)
Main item to be aware of:
*Some end-users installs were missing a new dependency for the new data - specifically the Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 C++ Redistributable Packages for x86 or x64 depending on whether they application is using the Z4DLL32.dll or Z4DLL64.dll. (the x86 version for mDesktop users). We would recommend installing the 2013 C++ redistributable.
Below is a link to the latest VS2013 Redistributables:
If you are still having issues after installing the redistributable, then try installing the latest version of mDesktop here
You do not need to update your mDesktop version. but you need to be aware that if you do updates or outputs based off of the errorcode being blank, then your process could be impacted, you will need to adjust your process accordingly.
In mDesktop -
with the SHA256 data you will see a new 19 errorcode, whereas previously it would be blank
A newer Version of mDesktop is still in development that will allow you to disable this 19 errorcode but you may need to adjust your process accordingly if you use the errorcode specifically in the meantime.
While most results will be identical, here is an example of how the results may be impacted, for most clients this will be less than 1% of your data, but that percentage can vary from client to client so please be aware.
If you were to enter a sample address, in this case this particular address is not deliverable by the USPS, but house number is within an expected range, so its valid down to the street, but not deliverable. These are the only type's of records that will be impacted by this update. Error code 19 indicates where its valid down to the range, but the premise itself is not deliverable.

Addresses that are valid down to the premise will continue to return a blank errorcode just like the old version, its only invalid addresses that are impacted.
